Al-Kafi

Course Description

4 x 2 hour sessions taught by Dr. Sayed Ammar Nakshawani. This course seeks to examine traditions on Ilm (Knowledge ) in Al-Kafi. Students will gain insight into introductory discussions concerning the science of Hadith. Al-Kafi is regarded as one of the most comprehensive collections of traditions from the formative period of Shi‘i scholarship. Sheikh al-Kulayni compiled traditions from Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his family into 35 books and more than 15,000 traditions making it a primary source for the Shia since the beginning of the Occultation of the Imam (AS). For students who can't make it to the live lectures, we provide recordings after each session.
